2008 Beijing Olympic Games - Opening Extravaganza

2008 Beijing Olympic Opening Ceremony

2008 Beijing Olympic Opening 2

As a Chinese, I am extremely proud in writing about our truly exceptional Beijing Olympics.

I receive this congratulation note from our CEO to all Chinese staff:

Congratulations to you all on the outstanding success of the Beijing Olympics. The rest of the world watched on in awe - at the exciting venues, the delightful and friendly hosting, the wonderful opening and closing ceremonies - and the extraordinarily smooth running of such a large and complex event. The world is also in awe at China's remarkable sporting performance ! You should all be very proud. Well done! August 25, 2008

The 2008 Beijing Olympic Games is one of the most successful in history. It is a Green Olympic, a Technology Olympic and a People's Olympic. I am extremely proud that Chinese had turn our Olympic dream true.

It is successful in a way that there is zero complaint and zero demonstration - in all of the venues including Beijing, Hong Kong and the other cities. I am sure this is a very memorable event for everybody and every Chinese.

Following boxer ZHANG Xiaoping winning the 51st gold medal, China achieved a total of 100 medals, including 51 gold, 21 silver and 28 bronze in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
