Hotels in Hong Kong are the most expensive along the golden route, followed by Beijing. In Xian and Guilin or Yangshuo, you must go five-star, as hotels there are never expensive.
During the Olympics seasons in 2008, you would expect a great inflation in Beijing hotel rates. Hong Kong co-hosts the Equestrian events, you would expect hotel rates to go up as well. To secure a room, you are advised to take action now if you plan to visit Beijing or Hong Kong to see the summer Olympics in 2008. One other option not to be overlooked is to find a timeshare rental. China has an ever-increasing number of resorts and lodgings with timeshare options. Typical timeshare owners own the rights to one week per year at their favorite locale. Latest News 26/07/07 Beijing Hotels - Large price rise during the Olympics In a survey result, five hotels stated that the price of their guest rooms during the Olympic Games will be 7 times as much as the current price. Seven other hotels said the price of their guest rooms will increase by less than 5 times during the Olympic Games.
